Gary E. Anderson earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Management from Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Michigan. He worked for the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry for 36 years. He was the District forester and was in charge of managing the Land-O-Lakes state forest, a 35,000 acres multiple use forest. The management included being responsible for timber sales, wildfire prevention and control, reforestation, a campground, private forest management. a ski trail and a snowmobile trail. In 2004 Anderson retired and started Anderson Forestry Consulting LLC. He’s written over 200 Stewardship Plans totaling over 20,000 acres and managed over 50 timber harvests resulting in landowner income of more than five hundred thousand dollars.
